Anthropologie - Jackson, MS
Found these wonderful ideas at Anthropologie today in Jackson.
(Pictures aren't great quality because I was in a hurry, afraid I might get in trouble for taking them!)
These are paper airplanes made of maps and hanging from string!
This is a giant ball with more of the map paper planes glued all over it!
And this wonderful desk hutch with a little globe and old cameras (which is kinda like what I have in my house, but I just can't get enough of!)!
Pottery Barn Outlet
Last night we stopped in Memphis on our way to Jackson. And the Pottery Barn Outlet I had only heard about IS REAL! It was everything I could have hoped for and more! Not only is there a PB Outlet, but also a West Elm Outlet and a Williams-Sonoma Outlet!

Williams-Sonoma Outlet
I had the idea about a month ago to frame a baseball jersey for Chris and Katie's house (like my vintage swimsuit, but he loves baseball). And over in the PB Teen section I found this great jersey already framed. Unfortunately, even at the Outlet I couldn't afford it. I also love the enormously oversized flashcards!
I can't wait to go back, and next time I'll make sure I have all day!

Fun Stuff
I had a wonderful afternoon with Rachel today. We went to Marva, the Salvation Army, and this little junk store on Hwy 7 called Hilltop Antiques. That last one is where I found these!
The best part!? I only paid 25 cents for each of them! I got 11!!!
Then Rachel sent me some great links!
This is a fun website. I especially loved her Sacred Space.
She's also got fun crafty stuff, like how to create your own purse or make a comic wallet.

Vintage Maps
I was cruising around different blogs and found Oh Happy Day. I'm already married, but love the ideas she has! I especially love this from project wedding.
So now I think I need to have a pull down map backdrop for pictures. I just need an occasion. I'm trying to decide if it could fit into the theme of Katie's shower (*crossing fingers and wishing really hard*).
And I want them...

Furniture Board
A while back I saw this in a Pottery Barn magazine.
Determined that I must have my own giant board of furniture, I made this.
I just enlarged pictures of mission style furniture I found in an antique price guide, glued them onto a sturdy piece of plywood, and finished it off with some high gloss medium (although I think I'll try modpodge next time).
Sandi told me today that she would like one that has seashells, squid, crab, and other great seacreature prints. I think that would be so cool! And Jessica suggested dogs (which I love!!!).
If only there was enough space to hang everything.....

Beach Pictures
I finally got my vacation pictures back! I took my Diana F+ camera with me and loaded it with color film this time.
You just never know what the light is going to do.

Map Mats
I went to the book store last week and found something wonderful: Martha Stewart's Encyclopedia of Crafts!
EVERYONE needs a copy of this book! She shows you how to do so many things! And as a bonus, once you know how to use the supplies, you can come up with ideas of your own!
This week I tackled pretty paper mats, which is VERY simple.
She used nautical charts. I just couldn't bear to cut mine up, so I bought a world map, a U.S. map, and I cut up a NYC map I bought there in March.

Then I cut a mat out of a U.S. map and made sure to include Florida. I put in a picture of Lucas and me at the beach when we were little and added it to the display behind my couch.
This was the first time I've used spray-adhesive. So easy! So snazzy!
Now to decide on my next project...
