It's snowy here today so I've borrowed a label maker, and I'm about to get crazy! But first, I wanted to share these beautiful labels I downloaded last night (for free!) from PoppyTalk. Then I took them over to PhotoShop and made them my own with some turquoise words. A little double stick tape, and now they are attached and begging me to bake!

Drawer Labels

These will be on all the drawers in my new kitchen, so everyone who comes over will know where to find stuff!

This is a really bad pic, but they can be found here.

Two Smaller Chests Make 1 Large Console

Now here's a great idea from House Beautiful. If you want the look of a larger console/buffet piece but can't find the right fit, use two smaller chests and unify them with symmetry.

Antlers

I bought a wonderful (and large) buffet at Riverside in Ft. Smith for my hallway so that Josh and I can be super oragnized. So far, so good. I have a coat tree to one side, a charging station and mail basket on the buffet, and I need some sort of hat storage for the other side. So I'm thinking antlers.

My first stop was etsy. I would have bought this pair of jackalop antlers with it's cool mount and extra hooks, but the fur kinda freaks me out. I don't want to think about it actually being alive...

Then there is this great seller. She's a taxidermist and mounts antlers in the most beautiful way I've ever seen! (This pair here)

I will consider, of course, going the faux antler route, like these.

My next stop was ebay. I found out that mounted antlers on ebay, while not as pretty, have a more natural feel (like what I grew up with), and are much cheaper! I would be fun to have about 3 sets to go in a vertical line down my wall. Like these...

with these.

First things first. I live in Arkansas. I have to ask my family if they have any I could just have, though this doubtful. Antlers are a prized possession for the hunters I know.

Oh, I Want This

Over at Sublime Stitching, you can buy a little embroidery kit with instructions and a pattern. I really think I need these little lamps on a set of dishtowels....or something.

It's Finished!

While I really love the leash racks over at Bumble Belly Designs, I just couldn't resist trying one myself. And I'm pretty happy with the result!

And it's hanging by my front door!

I want to sleep here...

But even more than that, I wish I had a blackboard wall I could draw on like that.

Quilts

I am so happy Pottery Barn is bringing back their farmhouse style. That classic style is why I fell in love with them in the first place. And I've really been into quilts lately. I wanted to make one, but then I found out that a traditional quilt is sewn entirely by hand. While this is not impossible, it may be something I put on my list of things to do before I'm 30...or before I die.

But I did find these lovely quilts online - most are for sale.

Store Update

I've been adding some great stuff to the etsy shop lately!

This wonderful new photo album with a vintage map of TN and KY...

The second book in the "Worth A Thousand Words" series...

And this wonderful curiosities canvas, like my furniture board and Sandi's curiosities board, only on canvas for easier shipping.

So Dreamy...

This is such a wonderful kitchen. It may be a little too modern for Katie, but it feels just like here. I would LOVE to bake here.

Happy New Year! This year I will....

1. Keep an art journal

2. Play more golf (I have a really nice set of clubs. I might be good!)

3. Build up my Etsy shop (maybe even sell something...)
4. Spend more time just hanging out with Josh and enjoying this wonderful life I have!
