I just can't get enough. I feel like my posts this week have been as random as my cough syrup brain, so here's a lovely image for the weekend. Looks like my kinda place.

Check This Out
Have a small house or apartment and want a piano? Here you go! A table that is also a piano. I'm amazed.

How to Build a Fort
A while back I was trying to help my niece and nephew build an indoor fort. We pulled all the blankets we could find and had a lot of fun. But I really think these little lantern lights make it way better. Check out this guide from Apartment Therapy for more ways to make your indoor fort better.
Plus, their MeMe and Papa's house has a huge dining table, and we could really go to town with pillows and twinkle lights!

Beth Shops Beach - Joseph's Cottage
The last store I'm visiting on my beach shopping segment is one of my very favorites! I make it a point to visit Joseph's Cottage every time we're here. Owner Melissa Farrell is so welcoming, and has a wonderful style. She always has a lot of beautiful natural materials and textures, and this visit was no exception.
I fell in love with these vintage quilts from India!
When you first walk through the doors, this is the view. I love those fans and the little glass deer.
I got that orange butterfly scarf, but I thought it was a table runner. It's quite lovely, and why not use it for a scarf in the winter and a table runner in the spring?
She has some beautiful light fixtures. And I didn't even notice that huge pendant shade until looking at my pictures!
Melissa does wonderful interiors, too! Check out her website to see them. I would want to consult her if I were buying a beach house!

Beth Shops Beach - The Green Door
The Green Door in Apalachicola is the newest store I've visited on this trip...and I'm so glad I did! It was here last June when we came, but I didn't get a chance to visit. Owner and artist Amy Friedman has done an amazing job! From the moment I walked in and saw this wonderful cabinet with her artwork and fun finds, I loved it.
She owns the entire first floor of her old downtown building, so I just kept going deeper and deeper. Every time I turned a corner, there was a new room with a new feel. I loved this one with the bright greens and bright blues. And see all the lamps? She makes those herself!
Down at the end of the hallway was this great mirror, and I totally bought one of those Dash and Albert blankets folded up underneath it.

I especially loved this one made of cork!

This room of her store is so serene and natural. I loved the great furniture, her picture frames made from recycled wood, and wonderful collection of shells and barnacles.
I could've spent most of the day hanging out in here and talking to Amy, and I can't wait to go back next time I'm in town!
For more info and to view her artwork, check out her website.

Beth Shops Beach - The Fuss Boutique
Today we are visiting The Fuss Boutique at Windmark Beach. This store has the cutest clothes. But what I loved best were the light fixtures! These pendants over her cash register are unique and make a striking statement when you walk through the door. Owner Lauren Spring said her friend over at Lemongrass Interiors made them for her by taking ordinary pendant shades and hot-gluing muslin on top.
They look like icing!

I loved this store, and I will definitely visit again on my next trip here. Oh, and check out her website, where you can see all the wonderful clothes she has and make your own wishlist!

Beth Shops Beach - Blue
Before I left town, I caught up on all my dvr'd episodes of "Man Shops Globe." If you haven't seen it, it is about the adventures of Anthropologie's buyer at large, Keith Johnson, and all the wonderful things he finds for their stores. So I decided that this week I would do a little segment called Beth Shops Beach and share all the great stuff I find here!
My first stop is Blue in Apalachicola. It actually used to be two stores - Blue and Avenue E - but the owner consolidated them into one, because times are hard (so sad). I really loved Avenue E. It was more antiquey, and Blue was more modern. The modern really dominates now. But there is still beauty to be seen!
I was really intrigued by the beautiful maps of the area. The writing said they were survey charts (I'll be looking that up on eBay later!).

I loved these paper birds (the picture does NOT do them justice), and those crazy limbs!

I'm Packing My Bags
...and heading to the beach!
Can't wait to see what wonderfulness the shops of Apalachicola hold for me! Oh, and did I mention seafood and warm weather!?

Towel Hangers
I have been wishing for a towel hanger in my kitchen since we moved in. I can't hang one on the oven, and there are knobs on my drawers. There is no towel bar anywhere! I'm still searching for an answer to this problem.
I was watching reruns of "Family Ties" the other day when I spotted a fun solution! See that white cow and chicken on the wall? See the towels hanging around their necks!? If I had the wall space, (maybe I do and I just can't see it) I would look for something like this to hang in there - the cow, not the chicken.

I worked at a vet's office for a little over a year, and we had a cow that someone made hanging in the bathroom to hang the towel on. I always thought it was an interesting concept, but it always seemed a little...too rustic for me. But now I know, it just needs to be spray-painted white! (But I do tend to want to spray paint EVERYTHING...)
So there it is - the solution to my problem from an eighties sitcom. Now to find one of my own...

Knitting Lesson
Today I'm going to Knit 2 Together here in Russellville for my first knitting lesson. I'm very excited! So I went over the The Purl Bee (I looked through Whit's Knits) to see what kind of stuff I might be able to make with my new skill.
Isn't this tape measure cover awesome!?
